Israel, Hezbollah exchange fire along Lebanon border

The Lebanese Hezbollah group and Israel exchanged a series of attacks on the Israeli-Lebanese border.

On the afternoon of September 1, Hezbollah fighters launched several anti-tank missiles at a border army base. Media controlled by the group claimed that several Israelis were killed, but Israel itself later denied this information.

In response to the attack, Israeli Air Force aircraft launched several attacks on Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon.

The situation on the border of Israel and Lebanon escalated in late August, when two Israeli drones were spotted over Beirut, located 80 kilometers from the Israeli border. Hezbollah then warned of an early response to the incident.

Lebanese authorities in late August filed a complaint against Israeli actions in the UN Security Council. According to Beirut, the Israeli side violated Lebanese air and sea space more than 400 times in two months.
