Hong Kong police fire tear gas, water cannon after protesters hurl petrol bombs

This last weekend marks the 15th consecutive weekend that the citizens of Hong Kong are protesting against the mainland Chinese government. Thousands of activists marched through Hong Kong without an official permit Sunday morning. The latest update that has gone out to the world in that police are using tear gas against the rioters after they also used "chemical warfare". The subway systems are now closed down because of the escalation of the protests. The controversial bill that started this whole ordeal has been withdrawn but protesters said they will continue until all five of their demands (withdraw the bill, Carrie Lam to step down, inquire police brutality, release the arrested, and greater democratic freedoms) are met.
