On Saturday, September 14th, the White House confirmed the death of Osama bin Laden's son, Hamza bin Laden. President Trump stated Hamza, a high-ranking leader in Al Qaeda “was killed in a United States counter terrorism operation in the Afghanistan/Pakistan region.” He also continued to state, “Hamza bin Laden was responsible for planning and dealing with various terrorist groups.” The White House did not give specifics on when this operation occurred. For those fighting extremist terrorism this is a huge victory Not only does this death deprive Al Qaeda from crucial leadership, but the world has removed a symbol of his father. However, now it leads those fighting to question who will be the next heir to the throne?
