Israel, Hezbollah exchange fire at Lebanon border

Tensions flare as Hezbollah and Israel engage in crossfire along the northern borders of Israel. Hezbollah, which is considered a terrorist organization by the U.S and a host of other sovereign states, publicly expressed its disdain for Israel due to reports of Israel killing two of its members in Syria, and also for two drone attacks targeted in Beirut. Israel responded to these claims stating these drone attacks were merely flares that ,"originate[d] with operations by our forces in the area." Nevertheless, before Hezbollah's leader Hassan Nasrallah took the stage last Sunday, Isreal mobilized troops to their northern border, preparing for possible military intervention. Al Jazeera correspondent Harry Fawcet weighed in on the matter saying, "I think Israel has been ready when Nasrallah made his speech last Sunday when he said that Israel had breached the terms of the rules of engagement that had been in effect since the end of the last conflict in 2006." Hezbollah and Lebanon officials have not responded to these reports but on Wednesday, the Lebanese army fired upon Israeli drones in their air space which forced them to return.
