Today the health administrator of Mali has announced that Mali is now Ebola-free, due to no new cases have been announced for forty-two days. While the very last patient was reported to have left the hospital in early December. The first recorded case was reported in October; the patient was a two-year old from Guinea who passed away because of the illness, Abroad there have been a total of twenty-one thousand two hundred and ninety-six cases, while deaths have reached to eight thousand four hundred and twenty-nine over all. This epidemic has brought devastation to the infected and their families, as well as caused major strain on international travel. Hopefully this will be the first of many countries around the world that will be proud to say that they are Ebola-free.
