United States and Cuba vs. Drugs

The drug problem coming from South/Middle America and the Caribbean have caused a lot of trouble for many years. The United States has tried to keep the drugs out as much as possible, but with the numbers and amount of resources/supplies these cartels and drug producers/traffickers have, it seems like the "Drug War" will never end. Over 100,000 people have died due to drug-related violence in the past 8 years just in Mexico, and the number is going to keep going due to the corrupt political system in Mexico right now. Drugs have passed through Mexico and into the States because of the corrupt system, and they have also gone through islands in the Caribbean into the States as well. With these problems, it should make us wonder if countries have at least tried to work together to stop the drugs from territory. Cuba and the United States are actually currently trying to work together to stop the drugs from entering. They have "quietly cooperated on drug enforcement issues, and have been passing information on movements of suspected drug boats through the Caribbean." If the countries can have success while working together, hopefully they can find a way to help out with the corrupt system in Mexico to keep the drugs form coming through there as well.
