All the stuff you hear about Russia's declining birthrate and coming depopulation is nonsense. It's not the 1990s anymore, Putin's rule has restored order and confidence to Russia and the results are showing in a demographic rejuvenation.
Russia is in fact definitely healthier than most of Europe now in terms of birthrate, although life expectancy, while improving, continues to fall short of Western standards due to deaths from the rampant alcoholism (Russian-style alcoholism, binge vodka drinking).
