Secretary
of State John Kerry suggested expanding the US-India trade ties at the
international investment conference on Sunday. It is because India can promote
their development and deal with their poverty problem, and both the United
States and India can fight against the climate change problem more by expanding
their trade ties. Although their commerce and investments have been improving
lately, there are still some problems like restrictive Indian law, regulations
and apprehension about intellectual property rights and protection.
According
to US officials the article says they are now making effort on agreements such as
a solar energy power or decreasing of carbon dioxide emissions. President Obama
might sign these agreements on 26th January.
Now India has one of the largest
populations in the world and their movement can influence the entire world. It
means if the United States and India effect these agreements, not only poverty
problems in India but also climate change problems could make great progress.
According to the data from the Japan Center for Climate Change Actions (http://www.jccca.org/faq/faq01_09.html),
the United States was the second highest carbon dioxide consumer and India was
the fourth all over the world. So there is no doubt of great progress by these
agreements. I hope a lot of countries deal with climate change problems like
this case because we, all people live on the earth and we should be responsible
for environment preservation.
