Is the War Crimes Court Still Relevant?

The International Criminal Court (ICC) chief prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, has received new challenges in addition to the many cases which have yet to be addressed.  The genocide case in Sudan has yet to be addressed and the charges against Kenya's president have been dropped.  One of the newest challenges for the court is the Palestinian situation as Palestine joined the ICC last week authorizing Bensouda to look into the alleged crimes committed on Palestinian land.  Other cases include torture in Afghanistan by American soldiers and ethnic cleansing in the former Soviet republic of Georgia.  Recently, the court has been accused of being irrelevant and ineffective. However, these claims may simply be a result of the limitations of the international law system.
