Terrorist working together

Although it is lead to believe Al Qaeda instigated the attack on the French magazine; according to MSN.com, the Jan 7 attacked stemmed from a competition between two terrorist groups.  Chiefly, with ISIL on the rise, Al Qaeda would like to remind them they are the top of the terrorist chain. Simultaneously, Amedy Coulibaly took hostages at a kosher supermarket, pledged allegiance to ISIL.
Moreover, Al Qaeda and ISIL have mutual interests. Both terrorist groups apply the same tactics including suicide attacks, sophisticated exploitation of the Internet/social media and their interpretations of Islam. Unfortunately, the result of these two allegiances cooperating lead to terror across Paris.
