Ketanji Brown Jackson Faces More Questions in Supreme Court Hearings

Like any new Supreme Court nominee, Ketanji Brown Jackson is being questioned by a panel of government officials. These hearings usually last a couple days and are usually tense, as officials fire questions at the nominee and require clear and accurate answers on the spot. This hearing was no exception as GOP senators grilled Jackson for sentences on convicted criminals. Although with this nominee, the GOP was notably tough and borderline rude. Many of the questions from the GOP were aimed at Brown’s sentencing on a child-porn case. Brown was able to explain her reasons clearly, but for some GOP senators it was not enough. Many senators interrupting her, demanding a better answer. This was the case for most of her time while being questioned by the GOP.  A complete unfair and rude treatment to a Supreme Court nominee and for someone to likely be confirmed in the near future. This raises a lot of eyebrows for many reasons. Will future hearings be this chaotic? This intense? I think we owe it to one of the most qualified nominees too owe her better. It is upsetting to know that those in charge are allowed to act like this. No matter your position, your political affiliation, this should anger you. I hope she gets confirmed, with the Democrats controlling the simple majority, this seems likely. Those in power need to be checked and those who worked so hard all their life for their country should be treated better.
