Workers strike across India for labor rights, better pay - Skyy Hills

India is experiencing a strike that has gone on for two days now. The strike across India is estimated to have nearly 200 million union workers strike, as multiple unions have organized the strike together. These unions are opposing the government, demanding social security for workers, minimum wage increase, and to stop the privatization of public-sector banks. While that is the focus of the unions, the workers joining the strike are also fighting for improved rights for workers, employees, and farmers. The massive strike has yet to impact the country's capital, but has effectively started to negatively impact small towns and interrupt traffic. It will be interesting to see the government of India respond to this strike and the needs demanded by their people.
