Back in May, Ireland voters repealed the country’s 8th amendment strictly prohibiting abortion. Now the country will also be putting a law into place making abortions cost-free. The new laws will allow women to get the procedure within their nation, instead of traveling elsewhere in Europe where abortions are legal. Repealing the 8th amendment is a big stride towards women’s rights in Ireland. This will now ensure that women can have access to a safe abortion, which is important for their health and safety.
