I am surprised that World War 2 never actually ended between Russia and Japan and that it has technically been going on still with no fighting for over 70 years. it is also suprising that Putin would just now bring it up this month, and that he said he would sign a peace treaty before they talk about the disputed islands. the Japanese think this may just be a big joke which could very well be true.
