Life as a 'foreign agent': Inside Russia's crackdown on free speech
By Matthew Bodner
Interpretation by Patrick Turner
When talking about the article it was shown that this was the first time the government in Russia has been cracking down on the free press. This was the first time that they cracked down on the press since the soviet era. This seemed important to talk about because of the main idea that the government is not allowing its people to express their beliefs. The reason why they are limiting the voice of the people right now is because of what is happening in Russia. There was a big problem with the idea of limiting the people of what they want to hear it sounds of that the government is trying to control the people's thoughts through Russia. Even foreigners are not allowed to write about going on in Russia that even out-of-state people are really not allowed to report on the ideas of the government.
