Hollis Esposito “7 Dead in Australia’s Worst Mass Shooting Since 1996”

Summary:
  • In Perth, Australia, seven people were found dead due to gunshot wounds on Friday May 11, 2018. The bodies were found at a rural property in Western Australia and the police said that this appeared to be the country’s worst mass shooting in more than twenty years. The victims were three adults and four children and were discovered a little after 5 a.m. Australia has strict pretty strict regulations and because of that there have been few mass shootings. To define a mass shooting, it is usually the deaths of four people, excluding the gunman, in a single event. The other worst shooting since 1996 took place in 2014 where a farmer shot his wife, and his three children before kill himself.
