President Trump is expected to announce his decision to pull the US out of the Iran nuclear accord later this afternoon. Before elected president, Trump referred to the Iran agreement as the "worst deal ever" and promised to tear it up his first day in office. Experts say the US leaving the agreement could send signals to North Korea and other nations about our reliability as a negotiating partner.
A lot is at stake if Trump chooses to pull out of the Iran deal. While it may be a necessary step for the US, stepping away from the Iran deal could potentially spark a nuclear arms race in the Middle East and raises questions about the fate of four Americans being held hostage in Iran. Will Trump's decision this afternoon help the US, increase tensions in the Middle East, or both?
