Some migrants start asylum requests, but dozens from the caravan are still in tents

In the beginning of this article it talks about caravan migrants that took the journey across Mexico and are pleading their case to be granted asylum here in America. Although, around half of them have been granted the group was made up of mostly mothers and children. It started with 63 Central American migrants and currently it is up to 88. During this process the migrants are held in a center known as “hielera” or “cooler” which is an area where they can be held for a few days or up to a week. During this time, they are being questioned to assess their situation. While some people wait in this area some camp out waiting miles from the U.S. border waiting their turn. Within this article it mentions why some of these people are leaving their country. For one individual she was fleeing her abusive husband that she left, which he then sends his gang members to tell them they would kill her six-year-old daughter. For this women she came fleeing from Honduras knowing that if she cannot get asylum she would killed if she went home. By the end of the article it mentions that Trump believes this type of migrants should not be allowed in the country. However, under international law the United States and other countries must consider to allow asylum claims into the country.
