The US embassy stationed in Israel is being relocated from its place now to the Capital which is Jerusalem. Trump and his advisors, The Department of State, explained the move as “recognizing the reality that Jerusalem is the Capital of Israel and the seat of its government.” This means that once they move closer to the headquarters that they can be more useful, but to me it seems as though the trump administration just wants to have more influence on the decisions made in Israel by being right beside the buildings and people that do so. The violence that took place in Jerusalem over the past few weeks was even predicted, but to the extent that there would be deaths up to 38 people was never expected. It makes me wonder why the sudden urge to move the embassy after decades of American influence and relative stability.
