A new book titled Border Wars: Inside Trump's Assault on Immigration written by 2 NYT journalists tells the story of when Trump tried barring migrants from entering the U.S. from the southern border earlier this year. It is based on interviews with anonymous sources who seem to have interacted or worked with the president. Earlier today, Trump tweeted that the claims made in this book were "fake news". Most shockingly, the book mentions that Trump once suggested that soldiers shoot migrants in the legs to halt their journeys across the border.
