Miraculously, Venezeula now has a spot on the United Nations Human Rights Council. Despite the atrocities that have occured under Nicolas Maduro's reign, the country will now have a say in the council. Over 50 countries don't even recognize Maduro as a legitimate leader, instead they support Juan Guaido. Many spoke out and urged states not to vote for Venezuela. Costa Rica even entered the election simply to try and stop Venezuela from winning the seat.
