"Turkey's Erdogan 'threw Trump's Syria letter in bin'"

Trump wrote Mr. Erdogan a letter on the 9th of October telling him not to be a fool and urged Turkey not to launch a military offensive against Kurdish-led forces in northern Syria. Mr. Erdogan ignored this request, which has resulted in Trump receiving harsh criticism for pulling U.S. troops out of Syria as it "gave Turkey the green light to launch the military attack." The Kurds have been a critical ally to the U.S. in fighting Islamic forces in recent years. This is important because "there are fears that the destabilization of northern Syria could lead to a jihadist resurgence. Also, Trump's letter wrote: "Let's work out a good deal! You don't want to be responsible for slaughtering thousands of people, and I don't want to be responsible for destroying the Turkish economy - and I will. History will look upon you favorably if you get this done the right and humane way. It will look upon you forever as the devil if good things don't happen."
