Turkey Syria offensive: Erdogan and Putin strike deal over Kurds

I read this article and found out that Turkey launched an offensive to drive out Kurdish forces and create a buffer zone. However, Russia is an ally of Syria's Bashar al-Assad and they raised concern about possible foreign interference in Syria. Now, Turkey and Russia both will conduct joint patrols on the border which will hopefully help resolve the issue. Later on, Turkey announced that there was no need to re-launch their offensive as the Kurds had withdrawn from the area. Overall, "Turkey seized a 120km-long strip of land between the towns of Ras al-Ain to Tal Abyad to create a 'safe zone' to resettle up to two million refugees currently in Turkey."
