Demonstrators in Iraq have said they are taking a stand against unemployment, poor public services and corruption in the country. Already, there have been almost 100 deaths due to these protests. The UN has called for an end to this because on top of the deaths, there have been almost 4,000 people wounded as a result of the protests. This is the first major challenge to Prime Minister Adel Abdel Mahdi's fragile government since he came to power. It will be interesting to see how this develops because Iraq is in a very fragile state right now so change is very possible.
