Reports show U.S. has begun reducing troops in Afghanistan - sierra perez

In the past year it has been reported that the U.S. is working to reduce the troops in Afghanistan and continues to within the past month despite the end of peace talk with the Taliban. According to a U.S. military spokesman, last year the troop levels were at 15,000 and this year decreased to about 13,000. Although this doesn't seem like a huge change there are 2,000 troops that are no longer deployed in Afghanistan which is a significant number. Trump calls the Afghanistan war the "endless war" abroad and has voiced how important to him to continue to decrease the numbers. In fact, the Trump administration said it was prepared to reduce the number of American troops to 8,600 in a draft of a peace deal between the U.S. and Taliban negotiators. The Afghanistan's security forces rely heavily on American support yo hold territory.  It is very interesting to know that nearly 2,400 American troops have died in Afghanistan and more than 20,000 have been wounded since 2001. Therefore reiterating how positive it is to hear the number of troops are slowly decreasing.
