Socialists Victorious in Portuguese Elections

The Portuguese Socialist Party won a majority of seats in Portugal's parliament this past Sunday. Recently, parties that are further leaning on their respective side of the political spectrum have been on the rise in Portugal, gaining more attention and support. Antonio Costa, Prime minister of Portugal, is a member of the Socialist Party, is is happy with the comfortable margin of victory he received, but many were surprised that they did not win an absolute majority in Parliament. He views this as not only a victory for the Social party, but also for the people of Portugal.
