The article I read in the Wall Street Journal recapped the events of how ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi reportedly committed suicide whilst being pursued by U.S. in an underground tunnel in northern Syria today. The White House and it's allies claim this is the biggest loss ISIS has faced since losing it's caliphate earlier this year. Personally I found this to be very interesting because ater talking about ISIS and terrorism in class, the killing of their ideological leader could be a big blow to ISIS as the leader used in so much of their propaganda was killed by the United States making the organization appear weaker as he is the figure head of their terror group. However, much like the killing of Osama Bin Laden didn't end Al Qaeda the United States still has a way to go in defeating ISIS.
