Europe Confronts a Third Wave of Infections

In the latest news of the coronavirus, there has been a third wave of infections in Europe which has caused cases to spike once again. In Italy, they have begun some lockdown measures in the country to help slow down the covid cases that have begun to spike. Italy was the first European country to have a lockdown just a year ago and now they have seen cases rise once again. It is known as a "new wave of contagion" which means the virus is being spread by more infectious variants of the virus. While cases have spiked in Europe, there has been supply shortages, and people who still do not want to get the vaccine due to not knowing. These cases will continue to spike unless there is a lockdown in place and that is what Italy has now done.
