Indonesia bombing: Worshippers wounded in Makassar church attack

A Catholic church in the Indonesian city of Makassar has fallen victim to a deliberate act of terrorism. A suspected suicide bomb attack near the Catholic church has left at least people wounded. The Police reported that the explosion erupted as two attackers tried to enter the church on Palm Sunday, the first day of Easter. Near the church, a destroyed motorbike and body parts were found at the scene and the two attackers have been reported dead. Although no terrorist group has claimed it carried out the attack, militant Islamists have been attacking Catholic churches in the past which leads police to believe this was a deliberate terrorist attack. President Joko Widodo condemned the attack as an act of terror and has ordered the chief of police to investigate those who were responsible.
