It feels as though week after week I feel the inclination to discuss the global pandemic that is going on well over a year, but yet the same conversations re needing to be had. President Biden has asked for Governors and Mayors to reinforce recently lifted mask mandates in order to once again lower the rising number of COVID-19 cases that are beginning to spike in a negative direction. President Biden is quoted as saying "“Please, this is not politics — reinstate the mandate,” Mr. Biden said, adding, “The failure to take this virus seriously is precisely what got us into this mess in the first place.” President Biden could not be more right in this scenario and the director of the CDC is in agreement that Americans need to "hold on a little bit longer" as we still fight to halt the spread of this disease. This includes continuing health and safety precautions such as a mask, social distancing, and small gatherings. It is becoming a broken record to have to constantly go through the cycle of numbers dropping, people stop using precautions, and the numbers rise again. There is hope along the horizon as efforts to increase vaccine production and use have been continuously pushed by the President.
