The senate is looking to help former military service members suffering from toxic burn pit exposure by passing a bill to provide more access to healthcare for post 9/11 combat veterans. A 2020 survey found that 86% of Iraq and Afghanistan American veterans were exposed to burn pits or other toxins. It is not clear whether the bill will actually reach the presidents desk, however advocates are still set on the fact that more needs to be done for veterans to address the issue of burn pits.
