The United States is trying to figure out Putins "games" by examining his recent actions. Jake Sullivan (Biden's nationally security advisor) said, "that the United States was seeing signs of Russian Escalation and that there was a "credible prospect" of immediate military action." The United States is keeping a close watch on them to make sure they know exactly what is going on. Biden has made it clear that he is not even considering sending US troops to defend Ukraine, as a result, the administration is warning everyone of a threat and that they are clearly trying to avoid war. They hope to disturb Putins plans which will hopefully delay invasion and they want to make it harder for Putin to justify an invasion. Putin has used a lot of false information in hopes to have people be more doubtful of him, therefore allowing him to easily achieve his goals. It's harder to know what right or safe now a days because social media spreads conspiracy theories so fast now that people are believing these crazy rumors and the best thing people can do is to just simply trust the government.
