Russian Skating star faces urgent hearing to decide Olympic fate after positive drug test

Russian Olympic skater Kamila Valieva has tested positive in a drug test before the games began. The court of Arbitration of Sport will make a decision whether Kamila will be allowed to compete in the next event. This put into jeopardy the team event medals because as the teams were going to the awards ceremony to get their medals, it got postponed. Kamila Valieva tested positive for trimetazidine on December 25, 2021 and there are questions about why the findings got reported until recently. I think it is weird that she tested positive for the drug over a month ago and the findings barely got reported. There are also questions about whether Valieva took the drug voluntarily or was forced to take it from a medical team or other adults. This will put Russia back on the watchlist about using drugs on their athletes.
