This little excerpt on CNN talks about the recent discussions between Joe Biden and Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrainian President. On their call on Sunday 2/13 Zelensky asked Biden for more military and financial support and Zelensky requested Biden visits Ukraine. The main reason for these requests is to show Russia that the West is on their side and that Russia invading wouldn’t be beneficial to them. According to the article it is very unlikely that Biden will go to Ukraine and his response to the other requests weren’t “positive” like Zelensky had hoped. I don’t usually keep up with current events, but I am glad this class requires us to do so. My roommate asked me the other day about what was going on in Ukraine and because we have been talking about it in class, I was able to give her a description and it felt cool to actually be educated on what’s going on in the world.
