Ukraine cyberattack

On Tuesday 2/15 a cyberattack blocked access to Ukrainian defense agencies and banks. The US and Ukraine are investigating the attack and doing forensic work to find out who is responsible for the attack and the article states that Russia has been responsible for attacks similar in the past. There was a cyberattack last month on January 14th that was done by Russia and Belarus. The attack included messages such as "be afraid and wait for the worst." So with this information and the already blooming conflict between Russia and Ukraine Russia is obviously the main suspect in the investigation. Ukrainian officials were able to act quickly and get the websites back up by today therefore the attack wasn't very successful. Even though Russia said they were pulling back troops from Ukraine just yesterday this cyberattack leads me to believe that this conflict between the two is not over yet. In fact, according to another article by Alexander Smith and Rebbeca Shabad on NBC News, Antony Bilken, a Secretary of State said "We continue to see critical units moving towards the border, not away from the border," NATO then held a meeting in which they sent "concrete proposals" on transparency, risk reduction and arms control to Russia but they have not yet received a response. After reading these two articles I'm starting to get scared that this conflict between Russia and Ukraine could turn into a World War.
