Kenyans Protest on Social Media about High Cost of Living

As the Kenyan government has taken actions to raise sales taxes and the inflation has been on the rise for the Kenyan Shilling since covid-19 began, social media has been the main stage for protests under the hashtag #lowerfoodprices. The people of Kenya are suffering the effects of these increasing prices of everyday necessities which are on average 20% more expensive than last year. Although economically Kenya is projected for success in the coming years, Kenyan individuals are not feeling any economic growth and are instead worried about putting any food on their tables.
