French President Emmanuel Macron believes a deal can be struck to avoid war with Russia. He spoke with Russian officials in Moscow, and in their discussion Macron believes Russia will not invade, he simply believes Russia just has security concerns and they want a lessened military presence from NATO in Eastern Europe, while not allowing Ukraine to join NATO.
The United States, however, says they believe Russia is preparing to invade Ukraine based off of their troops positioning and the fact they have 70% of the military equipment necessary to invade a country.
I still believe Russia does not want to invade Ukraine and it makes sense they don't want Ukraine to join NATO as there would be no barrier between NATO and Russia by then. However, I don't think NATO allies should move on from allowing Ukraine to join NATO.
