This article is sad and sweet at the same time. The article I chose to write about for this weeks blog post is about a man from the second world war who passed away. It’s not uncommon to hear world war 2 veterans passing, but this veteran in particular was a man who airdropped sweets for children. The article is titled “Gail Halvorsen: ‘Candy Bomber’ who airdropped sweets for children after Second World War Dies” from SkyNews. There are pictures of him from World War 2 and also a picture from him in 2015 in the article. The article describes his feelings about the war. Halvorsen, like many others, said he had mixed feeling about the war. The article also shares his story on why he started to drop candy into Berlin. It is a very sweet article about his life and also gives information about the Berlin airlift for anyone interested in reading more about it.
