President Macro's Gets his Popularity Back

As the yellow vest movement took France by storm, President Emmanuel Macron is recovering from months of popular pressure as his ratings are getting higher again. The movement began in November 2018, when Macro's policies were viewed as harsh by the people and a significant tax on diesel was implemented. Comparatively, the President deemed these tax increases necessary in order to combat climate change and protect the environment. When the protestors marched in  Les Champs Elysées and L'Arc De Triomphe, the government revisited its reforms and halted the increase. All of these changes took a toll on the approval ratings of the young President that many referred to as unfit to serve the needs of the people of France. Nonetheless, as of February 2019, "His popularity has crept higher since hitting 27 percent - the lowest point so far in his presidency - in December as protesters rampaged through central Paris and other cities smashing windows and burning cars."
