New congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and senator Ed Markey introduced the Green New Deal to the public. In it are new "policies" that can help to get the United States to reduce its carbon emissions. President Trump claims that the democrats want to remove all forms of transportation, cows, and the military in order to reach a healthy environment, but Ocasio-Cortez has assured the public that this statement is both not true and insane. The Green New Deal got its name from the New Deal from the 1930s because it will carry as much urgency and weight as the New Deal. Scientists have warned that climate change is getting worse and will take a toll on the economy, public health, and, of course, the environment. It will be difficult to create a more sustainable country, but in the end it will be worth it.
