News came out that Senate
Majority Leader Tommy Norment edited a 1968 college yearbook that had slurs and blackface photos. The yearbook had many slurs against African
American and Asian students. Virginia Military Institute communications
director Col Stewart MacInnis has said that the school changed its policies to
make sure that advisers review the yearbook. This scandal started when a
picture from Virginia Governor Ralph Northam's 1984 yearbook page showed
someone in blackface and another in Ku Klux Klan robes.
