"El Chapo" will join these notorious prisoners at the "Alcatraz of the Rockies"

"El Chapo" will join these notorious prisoners at the "Alcatraz of the Rockies"

This past week Joaquin Guzman was convicted on criminal conspiracy and drug trafficking charges. It is believed he will be sentenced to the maximum security facility in Florence, Colorado. Due to its remote and somewhat dangerous placement, this facility houses those who are the most dangerous and who are the most at risk for escape. It has been said that because of Guzman's "dramatic prison escapes" he will be held in Florence in solitary confinement for up to twenty-three hours a day. Pictures of the cells in this prison show one small window and all stone furniture. The former warden has said that since the facility opened in 1994, there have been no escapes. Not all who live there are in prison for life, one of the escape risks has a release set for later this year. Former prisoners have said that once you arrive, you can't see anything. One described a sinking feeling that he wouldn't see anything until he was released.
