Venezuelan soldiers abandon posts at Colombia border
Posted by Olivia Acanfora
The President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro has said that the Venezuelan border with Colombia is partly closed to stop foreign aid from getting into the country. As a result, there have been Venezuelan protestors at the border, begging the soldiers to let aid through. Some of the soldiers have abandoned their posts and have shifted their support from Maduro to the opposition leader Guaido. Guaido has welcomed the soldiers with open arms stating "welcome to the right side of history", and has promised them amnesty.
