US shutdown: Parties in Fresh Talks as Next Deadline Looms

Democrats and Republicans are working to try to reach a deal on border security in order to avoid another government shutdown. The main issues being looked at by both sides are the detention of undocumented immigrants and funding for President Donald Trump's border wall with Mexico. The last government shutdown lasted 35 days which was the longest in US history. Congress has until February 15th to pass legislation before the current federal funding agreement ends. The shutdown's cost to the US economy was estimated at $11 billion.
