It is unfortunately not a shock that the evil dictator of Venezuela is blocking humanitarian aid for his starving people. He actually stated that the country has “never been, nor are we, a country of beggars,” which is absolutely ridiculous given that he has given the country no other choice than to be “beggars” and in need of severe aid. Hopefully, the United States and other countries offering aid are able to actually aid the people soon and the blockade becomes lifted. Maybe they would be able to fly in relief and drop packages like was done for East Berlin during the split in Germany. Currently, the US is keeping this relief in Columbia once it was stopped in a border city by a blockade of semi-truck trailers and tall wire fencing.
