Iran's foreign minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, who played a key role in the 2015 nuclear deal, announced his resignation Monday. Deputy foreign ministry spokesman Sayyed Abbas Moussawi confirmed Zarif's resignation in an interview with Iran state media IRNA. Zarif was the key architect in the landmark deal aimed at reining in Iran's nuclear program. Zarif is well known in western circles. He was educated in the United States and speaks nearly flawless English. Zariff even got an education in the United States of America. He attended San Fransisco State University where he got his undergraduate and attended the University of Denver where he got his masters in international relations and also achieved his doctorate there as well.
