WW1 Grenade Found Among Potatoes
By: Reagan Quynn
A crisp factory in Hong Kong uncovered a grenade from World War One among an importation of potatoes from France. Officials believe the grenade was accidentally dug up in the field with the potatoes. A military historian said the grenade was likely dropped by soldiers during WW1 and left there. It was 3 inches wide and the condition was deemed unstable because it was discharged, but did not detonate. The device was safely detonated by bomb disposal officers using a technique involving high-pressure water firing.
