Citing Uncertainty Over Brexit, Nissan Scraps Plans to Build New Model in Britain

Fearing a no-deal Brexit, Nissan confirmed that they are ditching plans to build the new X-Trail model in Sunderland. This decision is seriously damaging to the communities that depend on companies such as Nissan for jobs. Since the Brexit vote, the British car industry has seen a large fall in investment, citing a decrease from $860 million to $460 million. Brexit's uncertainty will continue to have a major impact on investment and the economy as a whole.
