On Sunday, it was announced that the Pentagon will be deploying approximately
3,750 additional US forces to the southwest border to provide support to
Customs and Border Protection.
This additional units are going to be
deployed in 90 days, with this units, there are a mobile surveillance support
as well as putting 150 miles of concertina wire between the ports of entry
alongside the border.
This decision by the pentagon was highly
criticized by the House Armed Services Committee, they didn't want to reveal the size of the increase and considered
it a violation to the executive order of transparency with Congress, who's the
one oversees, authorizes and funds its operations.
The decision of
sending additional troops was confirmed by President Trump, via twitter on
Thursday.
This security matter is
not related to the potential White House led effort to use funds from the
Pentagon or personnel to help built sections of a border wall with Mexico.
