All Minneapolis public schools are preparing to be closed for in-person learning from Wednesday through Friday this week, in anticipation of potential civil unrest following the verdict in the Derek Chauvin trial. Closing statements are expected Monday, after which the jury will deliberate. Law enforcement officials have also been preparing for the possibility of civil unrest following the verdict, and there are over 2,000 members of the National Guard and 1,100 other law enforcement officers that have been made available to deal with any potential civil unrest.
